Team Shaolin – Dubai Performance

Shifu Heng Wei together with his Shaolin brothers from the Qipanshan School in China performed as Team Shaolin to headline the opening of the 15th Annual International Sports Championships in Abu Dhabi.

The event was held at the Armed Officers Club and Hotel which is an amazing 5 star location which has everything from bowling and billiards through to an Olympic sized swimming pool and shooting range! And as you would expect of such an event it was attended by some very important people from the UAE. The show was also televised live on two of their top television stations so who knows how many people were actually watching!

It was a cultural explosion of power, energy and colour and the audience were thrilled and amazed by the dazzling display of strength, agility and superb showmanship. Team work was the focus of the event and this was demonstrated throughout our performance with the highlight being the fan routine which is always a crowd pleaser.

We were warmly welcomed wherever we went and the guys in their uniforms were constantly asked to stop so people could take pictures, which they were happy to do.

All in all it was a great performance which left everyone happy and wanting more. Despite the 50 degree heat we had a fabulous time. Will we be back in the UAE? We definitely hope so!
