Master Neil Genge began his Shaolin training in 1989 and
took his buddhist vows with the venerable Master Su Xi and
his given temple name is Shi De Yan (31st generation disciple).
Over his many years of training he has acquired his skills
from a variety of schools in China including Shaolin Temple,
Wushu Guan and other schools in Deng Feng and has studied
with Masters such as Shi De Yan, Shi Yan Ao, Shi Yan Zhuang,
Shi Yan Xian, Shi de Chao, Shi Su Gan, Shi De Jun and Shi
De Cheng. Nowadays Master Genge only trains at Shaolin Temple.
In addition to being proficient in Shaolin Temple forms
he specialises in Qi Gong skills such as Two Finger Zen,
Needle Throwing, Iron Body, Iron Palm etc and teaches both
Chen and Yang Style Tai Chi. To ensure his students have
the opportunity be as flexible and supple as possible to
he also teaches Yoga.
Master Genge has been teaching professionally now for over
15 years and still competes in competition. Last year he
entered the Goushou World Championships in Hong Kong and
won the gold medal for Shaolin Fly Whisk in the traditional
forms category.
